loveletterdesigns.

I got these treats for my sis + her hubby for their one-year anniversary (but more for my sis, love you Ky, but I know chevron doesn't excite you quite like Meg).  They're from LoveLetterDesigns.  The designer was so great - quick, responsive, and created the perfect gift for my sweet sis.  Find them here.

add this to my wish list.

This Dallin Chase dress has stolen my heart.  Note to self: this is why casually dropping by Cusp is a bad, bad idea.

lucite has my heart.

I'm kind of obsessed with lucite right now.  I can envision a lucite coffee table fitting oh, so perfectly in my living room.  And perhaps a lucite chair in the corner.  And what about a lucite tray for my bedroom dresser?  May be overkill, but all things lucite just keep catching my eye.

I found these adorable chevron trays at the Tilly Maison shop on Etsy, and thought they were too fab not to share.  I want/need/have-to-have this for my bathroom or bedroom!  I would fill the tray with big chunky jewels, a pretty perfume bottle, a little glass with a fresh flower....and I'd be in a happy place.  :)

Find them here.

ohio love.

Fresh off a trip to OH to celebrate my Pap's 77th birthday and my sister and her hub's first anniversary, this seems appropriate.  I think I need it framed en mi casa.  Oh, how I miss Ohio....and my amazing fam that lives there.

Thanks, Meg, for sharing! XO.

birthday wishes.

happy birthday to my most favorite funky, free-spirited friend.  my music guru and dancing diva.  my soul sister and balcony-heart-to-heart-night-owl.  my chelsea-handler-chuckler.  my scarf-loving fashionista. the toad to my turtle. you are truly the best.  i love you!

tribal.

Friends, this is my first ever photoshop-made collage!  What do y'all think?  Yes, I know tribals have been on the trendy train for about five minutes too long now.  But....I am not quite sick of this fad yet.  I still love the vibrant colors and bold designs, so I decided to make my first collage "all things tribal."  Go me - a new header, and now photoshop.  I'm movin' on up!

tibi outlet.

I'm in trouble.  Tibi, one of my all-time fave contemporary lines, has launched an online outlet.  Up to 70% off (all sales final)!  I wonder if this is a trend that other designers will follow given the popularity of sites like Gilt, Rue La La, etc. Either way, it is good for customers and even better for our pocket books.

Check it out aqui.

PS - it nearly gave my dear friend (and grammar queen) LB an anxiety attack when she saw that Tibi made an error in this email.  "You're" - not "your", Tibi....

paper.

I love Kate Spade stationary.  I have so many different designs - and the key is that I pick them up at TJ Maxx on super duper sale.  Yes, I'm letting you in on the secret.  I saw these new monogram note cards today and l-o-v-e them.  Simple + classic.  Enjoy!

hello.

Unexpectedly I was sent to Chicago for a conference this week, so I haven't had time to do much post-work blogging.  I'll be back soon.  Have a lovely weekend, friends!

PS - aren't these flowers so pretty?  Thank you to my sweet (not-so-little-anymore) brother who sent them as a thank you gift for hosting him and a buddy in DC for his 20th birthday.  You're the best!

jj winters.

I get so many compliments on my JJ Winters gold envelope chain bag, so I thought I'd let y'all in on the (not-so-well-kept) secret.

There are many reasons I adore this bag - namely, the size (it fits a cell phone, compact, camera, lip gloss and cards/cash perfectly) and the chain makes it easy to carry (I always seem to "misplace" my clutches).

I picked mine up at the Charm boutique here in DC.  Best part - it was under $100.  A total find if you ask me.

Check them out here + here.

random tuesday morning thought.

I wish I were in Austin, TX.  Rocking my boots and hanging with my BFFs.

....enough dreaming, to work I go.

PS - don't you love my feather ring?  House of Harlow birthday gift from my love LB.

send emails in style.

Exciting news!  Today I received a treat in my inbox announcing Meeble Mail, a new service that allows you to send fab and personalized e-stationary via gmail, AOL, Hotmail, and Yahoo (soon with capabilities for Outlook and Mac).

I was blown away when I signed up and realized that many of my favorite stationary and home decor designers are partners in this exciting new endeavor (Dabney Lee, Jack and Lulu, Thomas Paul, and Hammocks and High Tea, to name a few)....

Check it out here.  I'll blog more once I have some time to dig around the site and learn more.

california fever.

hiking in Big Sur.

we made it to the top!

doesn't quite look real....

keep out.

Bixby Bridge.

elephant seals!

   Nef's surfshop in Davenport, CA.

din + a few drinks at Big Sur roadhouse.
I can't get California out of my mind.  It is a problem.

The bf and I recently took the ultimate roadtrip: San Francisco to Santa Barbara on Highway 1.  Between afternoon oysters and red wine in Carmel, (literally) breathtaking hikes in Big Sur, yoga on the beach, and the sweet charm of towns like Monterey and San Luis Obispo, I really didn't want to leave.  And don't even get me started on the entire reason that we went to Santa Barbara - for my BFF's dream of a wedding.  Truly a fairytale.

So, here I sit, calculating and recalculating the distance between Cali and Ohio.  Trying to convince myself its just a plane ride away.  Wishing that I could somehow remove the hundreds and hundreds of miles that would separate me from my family if I were to move there.  Ah, a girl can dream, right?

Hope you enjoy some of my fave pics from the roadtrip.  <3

a little extra flare.

My dear friend (and creative genius) Cait used baker's twine for her wedding save-the-dates.  I love it.  Adds a little extra flare, don't you think?

pretty jewels.

I had my first experience at the new(ish) Anthropologie accessories-only boutique yesterday.  I couldn't resist stopping in to see what it was like.

Of course in my head, I had fantasized about what the store would be like (because I love all things Anthro).  It was much smaller than I'd imagined, quaint, the decor was nothing over-the-top, but the best part: they were having mega sales.  Lots of ikat scarves, funky shoes, and oversized necklaces.

I got these stackable rings and green stone earrings - both on sale.  And I love them!

If you're in the DC area, I recommend stopping by and checking it out.  You can read more about the boutique at Such Pretty Things here.

hammocks & high tea: oh how i love thee.

I can't recall how I stumbled upon Hammocks & High Tea, but I'm so glad that I did.  Such great goodies - including drawer liners, tea towels, table runners, vibrant tote bags - and amazing tribal-inspired dopp kits.  I am crossing my fingers the chevron drawer liners are back in stock soon!

I am in loveeee.  Check it all out here.

chevron + ikat = love.

Someone please tell me if chevron and ikat are so-on-the-brink-of-being-over, because frankly, I cannot get enough of these two fads.  For almost two years now, I've been fantasizing about the Rubie Green chevron pillow case, and drooling over anything ikat - especially the Madeline Weinrib fabrics.

Case and point: see posts dating back to 2009:  here....and here, once again, oh, and one more.

So, are these trends that I need to abandon?  Or should I just take the plunge and give in to my inner-fabric-cravings?

Hmm....

day tripper.

Yesterday, the bf and I embarked on a mini-roadtrip.  We didn't have a destination, and no clue where the day would take us, but we both agreed we needed to get out of the city.  So, where did we end up, you ask?....

A farm, outside of Poolesville, MD.  It was such a perfect day - start to finish.  We picked fresh blackberries and scored a ton of other delicious fruits and veggies.  We also hand-picked flowers and made a pretty bouquet.  The night was topped off with a yummy feast, where we dined al fresco, using the tomatoes, squash and zucchini from our farm adventure.

Though Poolesville isn't quite the "country" I'm used to (growing up in southeastern Ohio and all), it was a perfect escape and a great way to round out a wonderful weekend.

Below are a few shots from the day's activities.  And DC friends, I high recommend Homestead Farm if you're ever looking for a mini day-trip.

i'm back....ish.

Hi friends, I am so sorry to have neglected O+G for so long! I have been so busy between starting a new job and traveling (it is wedding season, after all), and everything else. Stay tuned - even though I have not been blogging, I have been jotting down notes on all of my most favorite things and plan to share very soon!

XO
