So Sweet.

Someday when I have my very own home, I want it to be as warm and inviting as Brooke Giannetti's beautiful nest! I love, love her taste. Everything is so soft and sweet. Romantic. Cozy. Oh, how I do love. You must check out her blog, Velvet & Linen, here.

Presenting....

Presenting: my first Spring-themed post! Why so soon, you ask? Because at the moment, I am buried in almost 30 inches of snow here in the nation's capital. And a gal can dream of sunshine and sundresses, right?

So, I'm looooving this little flutter floral clutch via j.crew. Isn't it happy?

DIY Earring Display.

Thanks to my cousin's adorable gf Arlene for sending me this awesome DIY earring display/organizer. And I love this fab blog which is full of DIY projects and other creative ideas. Check it out here.

iLove my TOMS.

I am sure you all know about TOMS shoes by now, but if not....let me give you the quick 411. For every pair sold, TOMS gives a pair to a child in need. Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, for each pair of shoes sold, TOMS gave $5 to Partners in Health. By February, they will have given 30,000 pairs to children in Haiti! Please spend a few minutes perusing the TOMS website. If you need a new pair of comfy kicks, I truly can't think of a better way to spend $50. Read all about their mission here - pretty incredible stuff.

Sweet and Salty Delightfulness.

I have these Pretzel Hershey Kiss M&M treats on the brain today (thanks, to my dear Julia B).

Do you all ever make these little treats? They're a staple at our family holiday gatherings (red and green M&Ms are key).

Yummy photos via Our Life in Food available here.

Caitlin McGauley on DailyCandy.

I loooove Caitlin's artwork. I'm feeling quite inspired after watching this video. Check it out here, and find Caitlin's awesome site here.

And PS: love Au Revoire Simone - so delighted to hear them in the background!

Just Checking In....

Hello m'dears. I'm back on the East Coast. I'll be updating the blog soon! My December travels were amazing! And Hawaii is truly paradise. I'm taking a four-week-hiatus from traveling. Then onto NYC the first week in February and Chicago the next! Woohoo!

Hello, Houseguests.

I'm not hosting hordes of guests at my lovely shoebox apartment or anything, but if I were, I would absolutely try out some of these awesome ideas from good ole' Martha.

For example, a user-friendly guide to your electronics (iPod dock, alarm clock, TV/DVD, etc). Brilliant! Sometimes I can't even figure out which remote to use or which buttons to push on my own TV. Such a thoughtful gesture that will only take seconds!

Read all the tips and get the 411 here.

Cookie Monster.

Sweet little cousins Emma and Addy came over this weekend to help us decorate Christmas cookies. Addy is really into Dora the Explorer, so we made a couple Dora Cookies. I also made two cookies inspired by my sisters Meg (the brown-sprinkle-hair-cookie) and Raeg (yellow-sparkle-hair-cookie). Cute, eh?

Winter Wonderland.

Home sweet home. Some photos of our yard in Ohio and a special "Minnie Mouse" snowman created by my sweet little cousins Emma and Addy.

Merry, Merry.

For the Gal Who Loves: to Write.

My sisters know me all too well. Last night we each exchanged one gift. We never have been very good at that waiting-until-Christmas-thing. My sisters gave me these wonderful journals. I just love 'em. I can't wait to use them to document my upcoming travels to Hawaii! Thanks to the bestest sisters in the universe!

San Francisco

Check out this pic I took from the top of Lombard Street in SF. The rainbow over Coit Tower was awesome. Even in 45 degree, rainy weather, San Francisco is still one of the most beautiful cities I've visited!

E-Magazine Alert: Eco-Beautiful Weddings

I think I have been living under a rock. Yesterday morning, I logged into my O&G Twitter account after months of being absent. I found a lovely message from someone by the name GreenWed. I clicked on their Twitter page, and lo and behold - I had hit the jackpot! The Twitter page linked me to a fantastic blog called Elegance & Simplicity.

And believe it or not, things only got better. Not only had I just landed upon an amazing eco-friendly wedding blog, but it was also based in Washington, DC! And as if that wasn't great enough, I discovered that the author, Katie Martin, had just launched a new e-magazine entitled Eco-Beautiful Weddings!

And trust me, friends - you want to check it out. My favorite parts are the invites (beginning on p. 48 - you know I love my paper), and the favors (beginning on p. 61 - check out the chocolate Capitol buildings). And the real-life weddings are just so lovely - each detail is mindblowingly
perfect.

Enjoy!

For the Gal Who Loves: to Sew.

I just love this adorable pin cushion - and for only $10 - who wouldn't?! Such a fab gift idea for a gal that loves to sew. Find it here.

Thank you so much to my friend Shiloh for passing this along! [bloggers note: she has amazing taste and the best shoe collection (and closet) you could ever imagine. No, really.]
